The Samoyed dog has his origins in Siberia. These dogs are very active and energetic and must be trained because otherwise they become bored or depressed, which can lead to excessive barking, destruction, weight gain, irritability, and escape artist behavior. The average lifespan is between 12 to 16 years.

The Samoyed dogs are prone to healthy issues. The males have between 20 to 32 kg and 54 to 60 cm while the females 17 to 25 kg and 50 to 56 cm. The eyes of this breed are black or brown and have an almond shape. The ears are thick and covered with fur, triangular in shape and erect; they are usually white. The tail is carried curled over their backs.

The coat of the Samoyeds is dense. The topcoat consists of long, coarse and straight guard hairs, which give the impression of white but have a hint of silver coloring while the under layer consists of a dense, soft and short fur which keeps the dog warm. An important thing which can not be forgotten about the Samoyeds` coat is that it must not be shaved except for medical reasons, as the coat acts as an insulator against cold and hot weather and protects the dog`s light colored skin from burning in the sun.

Samoyeds are friendly dogs which can offer affection and love. They can be a good companion as they are intelligent and active dogs. Because they are an active breed, these dogs must consume their energy because otherwise they become bored or depressed and they start to dig or to bark. They will instinctively act as herd dogs, and when playing with children, will usually attempt to turn and move them in a different direction.

Like all other breeds ,the Samoyeds have issue problems, too. The most common disease a Samoyed may suffer from are genetic disease or renal disease. Hip dysplasia is also a concern for this breed as are eye issues such as cataracts and glaucoma. The lifespan of this breed is between 12 to 15 years.

Another very important thing which can not be forgotten about the Samoyeds` care is that their coat should be dried cool, forced air as water can be trapped in the very thick undercoat, has difficulty evaporating and may remain in the fur for a long time. Last but not least, to keep the Samoyed`s coat gleaming, dedicated grooming and a healthy diet must not be overlooked.

The Canary which can be also called the Island Canary, Atlantic Canary or Common Canary is a small bird which belongs to the genus Serinus. It has its origins in Azores, the Canary Islands and Madeira. Wild birds are usually colored in yellow –green, with brownish streaking on the back while the species grown in captivity have been bred a large number of different colors.

The canary has 12,5 cm long, with a wingspan between 20 to 23 cm and a weight between 15 to 20 g. The male canary has a largely yellow- green and under parts with a yellower forehead.

The lower belly and under tail- coverts are whitish and there exists some dark streaks on the sides. The upperparts are grey- green with dark streaks and the rump is dull yellow. The female canary is similar to the male but duller with a greyer and breast and less yellow under parts.

The Canary live usually in pine and laurel forests to sand dunes. These birds are most common in semi- open areas with small trees like orchards or copses, but these birds can be as well found in man- made habitats such as parks or gardens.

The Canary is a gregarious bird which frequently nests in groups with each pair protecting a small territory. The nest is usually built at the distance between 1 to 6 meters under the ground usually in a tree or bush. The nest is well hidden amongst leaves, frequently at the end of a branch or in a fork. The nest is made of twigs, grass, moss and other plants.

The eggs of the canary are pale blue or blue- green with violet or reddish markings concentrated at the broad end. A clutch consists of 3 to 4 eggs and 2 to 3 broods are raised each year. The eggs are incubated between 13 to 14 days and the young birds fledge after 14- 21 days, most commonly after 15- 17 days.

The Canaries feed with seeds like those of weeds, grasses and figs. They can also feed with other plan material and small insects.

It is well known that the canaries can be kept as pets, but they need someone to take care of. They must have food and water and in their cage we must find a swing. Yellow birds are particularly common while red birds have been produced by interbreeding with the red siskin.

The Scarlet Macaw is a large, colorful macaw which has its origins in American tropics. Thier natural habit has been damaged, but they can still be found on the island of Coiba.

The Scarlet Macaw has 81 cm long, of which more than half is the pointed, graduated tail which is typical to all macaws. They weight approximately one kg.

The Dalmatian is a well known breed which has its origins in Croatia. This breed is well- muscled, mid- sized and elegant dog. The nails of this breed can be white or the same color as the spots. The ears are thin, tapering toward the tip, set fairly high and carried close to the head. A Dalmatian may have between 48 to 61 cm at the withers and the weight is between 16 to 32 kilos. The number of puppies a female Dalmatian can give birth is between 6 to 8.

The coat of this breed is short, dense, fine and smooth at touch. When born, the puppies are completely white, and their spots come in gradually over the period of a couple of weeks. The most familiar colors for this breed are black or liver spotted on a white background. Other spotting colors are blue, orange or lemon, brindle or mosaic. The Dalmatian has its eyes colored in brown, amber or blue, but sometimes a dog may have one blue eye and one brown eye.

The dogs which belong to this breed have a high guarding instinct with the persons that they do not know but they can be very friendly and loyal to those that these dogs know and trust. Having a strong hunting instinct , these dogs are an excellent exterminator of rats and vermin. Like any other dogs, Dalmatians suffer from dysplasia, bone spurs and arthritic conditions. Most of their health problems result from the onset of old age: the average Dalmatian lives between 12 to 14 years.

The Dalmatian breed became famous for the first time in the novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians and later due to the Walt Disney films which based on that book. Later, at the releasing of the second film, this breed suffered a lot at the hands irresponsible breeders and inexperienced owners. Most of the irrefutable breeders and puppy mulls cashed in on the breed`s rising popularity , and began breeding a large number of Dalmatians without first ensuring and health, temperament and quality of the dogs being bred.

Those dogs which belong to this breed must be trained. One important thing which must not be forgotten is that these dogs must be trained but also they must be socialized. If you give a proper environment and care, the dog is a responsible and loving one.

The Red- rumped Parrot which can be also known as the Red- Backed Parrot or Grass Parrot, has its origins in the south- eastern Australia, particularly in the Murray- Darling Basin.

The Red- rumped Parrots are described as slim, elegant and moderate- sized birds which has approximately 28 cm in length. The color of the male`s plumage is bright emerald- green with yellow under parts, a brick –red rump and blue highlights on the wings and upper back, while the female`s color of plumage is not as vibrant as the male`s, with pale olive under parts, dull green wings and back and blue- black wingtips.

The Red- rumped Parrots live in pairs or flocks in open country with access to water. This species can be seen in suburban parks and gardens. Their green plumage help them to camouflage. In this way, they can not be recognized , as you may think that it is grass. Another very interesting thing is that they can hide quite effectively until the viewer is only 10 to 20 meters away.

The Red- rumped Parrots spend in general a great deal of time feeding on the ground and frequently they can call to one another with a captivating chee chillip chee chillip. Like many parrots , Red- rumped Parrots nest in tree hollows or similar places, adding fence posts and stumps.

The Red- rumped Parrots lay between 4 to 6 white eggs. Breeding usually takes place in spring, nevertheless , in the dryer inland areas, breeding may appear at any time of the year in response to rainfall. The lifespan is between 15 to 20 years if they are properly cared.

The Red- rumps Parrots are breed easily in captivity if provided with necessary flight space and with a large nesting box. The nests are usually built from peat and wood shavings by the breeders and the birds like to arrange the beds to their likings.

As soon as mating has happened , the parrot will place between 4 to 7 eggs which it will brood for about 20 days. The red rumped- parrots will mot go out of the nest box whilst on eggs and not even human checking will make them leave their eggs alone. The eggs will hatch around 30 days after and take care to take away the parrots as soon as they are fledged or else the male will attack his own offspring.

The Kuvasz is a dog which has its origins in Hungary. At the beginning these dogs were used to guard, but lately these dogs are used as pets. The Kuvasz is a large dog which has a dense coat and is usually colored in white and can range from wavy to straight in texture. The skin pigmentation of this breed is dark, the nose is black and the eyes have an almond shape. Females have between 35 to 50 kg while males between 50 to 70 kg, which makes this breed look very powerful. The head is long with the eyes set slightly below the plane of the muzzle.

When being a puppy, the dog looks exactly like ball with hair which makes it be a very cute “toy”. The Kuvasz has a light colored coat, medium hair and has a large stature. The Kuvasz is a very intelligent dog, very loyal to those who are very close to them. These dogs appreciate attention but can also be aloof or independent, particularly with strangers. These dogs which have their origins as a livestock guardian must be trained. They can protect their families because of their power and stature. A Kuvasz can be courageous, disciplined and stable, while hyperactivity, nervousness and shyness are to be faulted.

This combination of intelligence, independence and protectiveness make obedience training and socialization necessities. They are not recommended for novices and those who do not have enough time to train and socialize them properly. The Kuvasz needs very close connection to his owner. Last but not least the owner must know if barking will be a problem at the home.

A Kuvasz must to be brushed every two or three days because of its dense coat. To remove stubborn knots, is suggested to use a curry comb. Being a healthy breed which have a lifespan of 12 to 14 years , the Kuvasz are prone to developmental bone problems. For removing this problem, the dog must be well nutrition which assure him the necessary dose of calcium he needs every day.

The hip dysplasia, a painful and potentially debilitating condition, is not uncommon to many large breeds. The nutrition should consist in calories and protein. Cooked bones should not be given to this breed because can cause serious injury to the dog`s mouth and digestive tract.

Boxer is a breed of medium size and short hair which developed in Germany. The coat of this breed is smooth at touch and fawn or brindled. Boxers have short skulls, square muzzle, very strong jaws and they can bite very hard because of their power.

Boxers can be fawn or brindle , with or without white markings, which when unrestrained are conventionally named white Boxer. Fawn signifies a range of color, the tones of which can be distinguished variously as light tan or yellow, reddish tan, mahogany or stag and dark honey- blonde while brindle refers to a dog with black stripes on a fawn background. It also exists white boxers which have more than one- third of their coat covered with white markings. White Boxers have a higher risk of sunburn and associated skin cancers than colored Boxers this thing happening at human as well.

This breed is very harmless in the family, is showing affection but distrustful of strangers. The Boxers are very bright and friendly of temperament at play but brave and determined when aroused. The intelligence of the dog and willing tractability make him an extremely desirable family dog and perky companion. Even if it exists a child in the family, the dog will be very careful with them and playful. It is an active breed , energetic and which can be very easy trained. Moreover, this breed is not aggressive or vicious but like any other dogs needs socialization.

Like any other dogs, the boxer breed has numerous health issues such as: cancer, heart conditions such as Aortic Steno sis and Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy, hypothyroidism, hip dysplasia, and degenerative myelopathy and epilepsy, gastric dilatation and torsion, intestinal problems and last but not least allergies. The first cause why the dogs die is cancer, followed by old age, cardiac problems and gastrointestinal issues. Fortunately it exists some steps which must be followed as the breed to have a longer life: the owner of the dog must practice proper exercises every day. The average lifespan of the Boxers is between 10 to 13 years.

The Komondor is a large white colored Hungarian breed which has a long corded coat. This breed is a powerful one which has a natural guardian instinct. In Hungary, this breed is preserved and protected from modification.

The Komondor is a large dog which has the body covered by a heavy, matted ,corded coat. Their bodies are robust, the muscles are strong and the legs are long. The lips and the nose of this breed is always black. The height of this breed depends, the females may have between 65cm to 70cm while the males may have between 70 cm to 80 cm. Another very important aspect is the height of this breed; the females may have between 40 kilos to 50 kilos while the males may have between 50 kilos to 60 kilos.

The coat of the Komondor is long, thick, strikingly corded white one, which have about 20 to 27 cm long which resembles dreadlocks or a mop. When these dogs are puppies their cote is soft at touching while when they become adults their coat tends to curl. The temperament of this breed is like that of most livestock guarding dogs: it is calm when things are normal but it can be as well very defender. The Komondor is very affectionate with its family and gentle with the children. Moreover, this breed may live together with other family pets but is very intolerant to trespassers and teasing, and definitely is not a good breed for city life. This breed is very active at night, moving, patrolling places while in the daytime it will rest. People who are not familiar with this breed are frequently surprised by how quick and agile these dogs are.

Like all other dogs, this breed must be trained, too. Their dressage must start from a young age such as 4 to 8 months. A dog can become obstinate when bores, so it is imperative that training sessions be upbeat at happy. Another very important thing which can`t be forgotten is socialization. If you give a proper environment and care, the dog is a responsible and loving one. They are calm, devoted and they can offer you love, unconditionally.

This breed may suffer from cataract , bloat can be removed by not feeding the dog soon before or after practicing exercises. Another problem may be the external parasites due to the heavy coat of this breed. To control this situation, a skin check should be part of a regular grooming routine.

The Cockatoo belongs to the bird family Cacatuidae. The name of cockatoo is originated from Malay. The Cockatoos can be recognizable by their showy crests and curved bills.

The plumage is less colorful than the plumage of other parrots, they generally have white, grey or black, and frequently with colored features in the crest, cheeks and tail.

The Cockatoos` dies consists of seeds, tubers, corms, fruits, flowers and insects. They live in flocks, that is why when they go for food, they go in flocks.

The Cockatoos have between 30 to 60 cm in length and between 300 to 1,200 g in weight. Like any parrots, the cockatoos have short legs ,strong claws and a waddling gait. Because of their large wings, the cockatoos can fly with the speed of 70 km/h.

The Cockatoos use their “voice” when they want to recognize each other, when alerting other of predators , when indicating individual moods or when maintaining the cohesion of a flock.

The Cockatoos are diurnal birds, and need daylight to find their food. They have also several characteristics methods of bathing: they may hang upside down or fly about in the rain, or flutter in wet leaves in the canopy.

The Cockatoos` nests consists of sticks, wood chips and branches with leaves. The eggs are oval and initially white as their location makes camouflage unnecessary. Only 20% of eggs laid are infertile. The incubation depends on species size, the duration may be between 20 to 29 days.

Like other parrots, the cockatoos can be afflicted by psittacoses beak and feather disease. The viral infection causes feather loss and beak malformation, and reduces the bird`s overall immunity.

Many of the cockatoos have benefited greatly from anthropogenic changes to the landscape, with the great increase in reliable seed food sources and available water, and have also adapted well to a diet including foreign foodstuffs. Preponderantly forest- dwelling species have suffered greatly from habitat destruction; in the main , they appear to have a more specialized diet and have not been able to incorporate exotic food into their diet.
